Rosso Restaurant & Bar

A discreet Danley system gives every table clear, warm sound inside a visually sensitive heritage restaurant and late-night bar.

Rosso Restaurant & Bar occupies an ornate heritage building in Manchester. Its sound system must move from refined dining ambience to live performers and weekend DJs while remaining sympathetic to the architecture.

The brief

The previous system delivered inconsistent coverage: some guests received too much level while others struggled to hear. The replacement needed better sound at every table, discreet installation and enough additional impact for a busy late-night bar.

The system

Two Danley SM60F loudspeakers cover the bar and six SHMini loudspeakers serve the dining areas. A single TH212 subwoofer, concealed inside a custom cabinet with a brass grille near the fireplace, provides warm low frequency support. Modelling showed that the new design could meet the goal with less than half the previous number of loudspeakers.

The result

Careful pattern control keeps each source focused on its intended zone, preserving the visual environment and improving consistency. Rosso demonstrates why fewer, better-controlled sources can be especially valuable in restaurants where sound must feel present without becoming the décor.
