A distributed design for Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta combines football, soccer and major entertainment events. Danley’s engineering team designed eight main source arrays for the lower two levels and a distributed loudspeaker system for the upper tier. The documented product selection includes J1-94 and J2-96 Jericho loudspeakers with BC218 subwoofers. Intelligibility, coverage, output and power consumption all formed part of the brief.
Design considerations
Large enclosed stadiums need more than a target sound level. Consider speech clarity, source overlap, operating modes and energy requirements together, especially when the venue changes between sport and entertainment.
