Louisiana State University wanted superior performance for Tiger Stadium without spreading a conventional array architecture around the venue. The answer placed an exceptionally powerful Danley system within the scoreboard structure.
The brief
The system needed to project coherent, high-impact sound across a major outdoor stadium while working within the physical limits and sightlines of a scoreboard installation.
The system
Each side of the scoreboard carries seven J3 Jericho Horns, two J4 systems and four TH812 Tapped Horn subwoofers. SH64 loudspeakers cover the closest listeners, while SHMini loudspeakers provide distributed support through the club levels.
The result
LSU demonstrates how large-format point-source systems can deliver remarkable scale from a compact number of source locations. For stadium design, that means fewer competing arrivals and a clearer relationship between output, coverage and the audience.
