Low-frequency extension for Hans Zimmer Live
For the 2024 North American Hans Zimmer Live tour, front-of-house engineer Colin Pink and his team selected DTS10 subwoofers to support the production’s demanding low-frequency material. The performances combine Zimmer’s band and orchestra with film scores whose impact depends on more than audible mid-bass. Danley’s case study focuses on the subwoofer choice and its contribution to the show’s physical sense of scale.
Design considerations
Specify a subwoofer system around the programme and required frequency range, not simply a headline output figure. Touring decisions also involve transport, placement, amplifier requirements and how bass integrates with the main system.
