Reusing equipment at Free Chapel
Free Chapel’s youth worship space in Gainesville, Georgia, was renewed by repositioning much of its existing Danley equipment. An SM100B became the centre loudspeaker, existing mains were moved into fill roles, and a delay ring was adjusted to suit the redesigned room. A TH115 subwoofer added low-frequency support. The case study demonstrates an upgrade that retained useful equipment instead of assuming a complete replacement.
Design considerations
Before replacing a working system, reassess its coverage against the current room and programme. Repositioning and retuning may solve some problems, leaving new equipment to address the gaps that remain.
