Compact bass reinforcement at Hinkle Fieldhouse
Butler University’s Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis presented an unusually shaped space for low-frequency reinforcement. Danley’s portfolio identifies THMINI subwoofers, chosen for their compact dimensions and suitability for grouping, as the focus of the project. The case study focuses on fitting bass reinforcement into the existing venue.
Design considerations
Historic fieldhouses can constrain the size and location of new equipment. Bass performance should be modelled and measured at audience positions, with physical placement treated as part of the design rather than an afterthought.
