An end-fired system for a 28,500-seat stadium
Southern University’s A.W. Mumford Stadium in Baton Rouge required a replacement after water and lightning damage affected its previous system. All Pro Integrated Systems installed an end-fired arrangement using a J6-42 for the opposite end zone, two J3-64 loudspeakers for the side seating, two OS80 near fills and two BC218 subwoofers. Design considerations
Outdoor stadium design needs a documented weather and electrical protection strategy alongside coverage modelling. Near seating, distant stands and maintenance access should all be included when comparing centralised and distributed layouts.
