Two coverage rings at Arizona State University

Arizona State University renewed the sound system in the Tempe arena then known as Wells Fargo Arena. Audio Video Resources used a primary ring of 12 two-box hangs, pairing SH69 and SH60 loudspeakers for nearer and middle seating. A ring of 12 SM100 loudspeakers covers the upper tier, while four TH118 subwoofers provide bass support. The documented venue also hosts ceremonies and concerts.

Design considerations

Tiered indoor venues benefit from treating each seating depth as a separate coverage problem. Check overlap and delay alignment between rings, particularly where a listener receives sound from both.
